We began this current theme a couple of weeks ago with a story about the eagle unconscious of its true identity. So let us end this theme with the rest of the story…
If, for now, we accept Paul’s writings, then we must conclude that the mind is not conscious of the oneness of all life. Unaware of love as the unifying energy of the universe, it is lost in fear’s illusion. We are asleep and unconscious of our true self and thus under the grip of disillusioned dreams, nightmares, and false perceptions.
Suggesting that God lies within you while still transcending all things poses a challenge to our logical minds. How can everyone be one with a God, whose essence is love, when humanity has so much evil and dysfunction? It’s a perfectly valid question, one that we will continue to explore.
When fear injected itself into the human race, our minds became unaware of the divine dimension within us, prioritizing whatever the five senses communicated to us rather than the inner essence of our being.
Since your true self is a Christ-centric consciousness not rooted in thoughts, the concept of true self is a challenge to define by rational thought. How can you explain something that we cannot perceive with the five senses?
The human mind is naturally cynical that a Christ-centric consciousness is possible. It cannot comprehend it any more than our cat understands why we dance to Beyoncé and tear up while watching the Titanic.
