When Jesus was at his lowest point on the cross, he offered forgiveness and understanding to the ones who had betrayed him and made false accusations against him. Suffering the humiliation and excruciating pain of crucifixion, Jesus prayed, Forgive them, for they know not what they are doing. Jesus acknowledged that they were unconscious of the true self, and acted contrary to what was deeply imbedded in them.

Jesus exhibited love and compassion for those who were considered “the least” by society. He hung out with sinners, such as tax collectors, prostitutes, people of opposing religions, and even the soldiers of the occupying military force. Whoever came to Jesus was accepted and loved without restraint or condition.

If you were to ask people on the street who Christ is, the consensus answer would be Jesus. Some would probably think of Christ as the last name of Jesus. Others would conclude that it’s a title that Jesus was given. Although Christ was not the last name of Jesus, the word Christ is unquestionably linked to Jesus since Jesus was described as the Christ.
