The Visible Image Of The Invisible God
Continued from yesterday…
After Jesus’ death and subsequent resurrection, a new view emerged among the followers of Jesus that he, in fact, was the Messiah, or the Christ. The kingdom of the Christ was not external, but residing in the hearts of humanity. The foundation of that kingdom was the egoless love that Jesus manifested.
In his writing, Paul concludes that Christ was in actuality the full manifestation of God in a physical body, also known as the incarnation. He wrote, “Christ is the visible image of the invisible God,” and then adds, “that in Christ lives all the vastness of God in a human body.”
Christ was the embodiment of deity – God and human as one. What does the invisible and all-encompassing spirit look like when it shows up in humanity without restraint? Exactly like Jesus. And that’s why Jesus was the Christ.
