The Older Single Woman

Many years ago, I heard David Cho tell a story about meeting a single woman who had earnestly but unsuccessfully been looking for a husband for more than ten years. The woman asked him to pray for her to find a husband. Dr. Cho looked at her and asked her to describe this husband. At first, the woman seemed a bit puzzled by his request. So he asked her to get a pen and paper and write down the answers to ten prodding questions that described her husband.

After much deliberation, her perfect husband had been created. He was tall with dark hair, Caucasian, a school teacher, loved church and was very musically inclined.

Next, he asked her to read the list out loud, close her eyes, and visualize her husband – to see him clearly in her imagination. Once the image was crystal clear, he prayed for a husband precisely according to the woman’s imagination. Before dismissing her, he told her to now post her husband’s characteristics on a mirror in her home, so she would see it every day and express gratitude to the divine for him.

A year later, he met a friend of the woman who explained that the single woman was now married. Not long after Cho’s interaction with the single woman, a music group had come to the single woman’s church to sing. The leader of the group was a tall, dark-haired, Caucasian gentleman who was also a school teacher. All the young girls had been crazy about this handsome gentleman, but he only had eyes for one – the older single woman. After some persistent requests for a date, she had finally “relented” and said yes. And not long after that, they were married.

When you develop a vivid picture in your imagination of your intention and feel it with your emotions, you are essentially repainting the canvas of your heart. A new perception forms into unconscious thoughts or beliefs. This energy influences and alters reality in line with your intent.
